Taylon Floyd is a North Carolina-born singer and songwriter whose musical journey began at the young age of three, singing gospel music with her grandparents church choir, which eventually became the school choir and music lessons with a couple of her music teachers who felt like she had a musical gift. After moving to Louisiana when she was 12, she started writing her own lyrics and melodies, blending southern influences with her soulful style. There was a long period in her life where she took a break from all things music, and her voice became a hidden talent. In 2019, she decided to grow out of that and she joined a local band The Hacks of the Maze, where she wrote and performed her original music with them for five years around New Orleans are places such as Gasa Gasa, Santos, Hi-Ho Lounge, Portside Lounge, Carrollton Station, and Courtyard Brewery to name a few.
In 2023, Taylon released a live EP that captured the raw energy of her performances, showcasing her powerful voice and emotional depth called "I Refuse To Only Exist". Towards the end of 2024 she founded her first official band, calling it 'Taylon Floyd and The Wild Echoes' featuring two former bandmates, Chad Oliver (drums) and Louis Karpinski (bass), as well as Lee Foersterling (guitar), and Russell Pevey (keyboard). With this fresh lineup, Taylon continues to craft emotionally charged music that blends soul, rock and blues sounds. She spent much of last year writing new material and is hoping to release a new EP in the spring of 2025.
